Great for general understanding of drives and systems

This book helped me get through some tough design work. Like a lot of engineers, I was fortunate to survive the layoffs, but had to learn to do what I took for granted the electrical or controls group would normally do. This book got me on my feet quickly. I highly recommend all Newnes books. They have excellent writers and don't miss a thing. If you want to really understand, they make it easy. Their motors and drives book is terrific too.
