En la vida moderna, la casa es soo el lugar donde se duerme, se lava y se viste uno, donde todos están de paso y donde, a veces, la reducida familia son verdaderos desconocidos, y los acontecimientos más importantes, el alfa y el omega de la vida, nacer y morir, se ejecutan fuera del hogar y de la familia, entre aglomeraciones de desconocidos.

Este libro es el primero que leo de este tema de que parir es un acto totalmente normal y fisiologico propio de cada mujer. Siento que al fin encontre algo que hiciera sentir mas segura y orgullosa de estar embarazada y convertirme en madre. Tengo 6.5 meses de embarazo y todo lo que he escuchado hasta el momento es mido, tragedia, cosas malas y terribles durante el embarazo, parto y postparto. Estoy convencida que la mente es la creadora de todo a nuestro alrededor y crea variadas situaciones segun pensemos y creamos. No dije a solo 4 personas que estaba embarazada al inicio de mi embarazo, me fui de viaje a China por Tres semanas despues de enterarme por una prueba casera que estaba esperando, hasta los dos meses y medio pude ir al medico y ninguna de las cuatro oersonas jamas me dijo nada de sintomas del embarazo como malestares, vomitos, etc. yo segui mi vida normal (bastante activa y acelerada) A los 4 meses les empece a decir a las personas, increiblemente casi nadie me decia como me sentia o si estaba contenta, casi todos sin falta me preguntaban y ya vomitaste? Y estas mal? A mi mama, hermana, prima etc le dio esto y aquello y la paso muy mal.... A lo que yo respondia que nada de eso me paso y que ya tenia 4 meses y habia pasado esa etapa. Cada libro de maternidad, cada aplicacion, cada webpage hablaba que a la mujer LE TIENE que dar. Asi empece a buscar y encontre que el 80% de los embarazos en clinicas privadas panameñas queden en cesarea o si lograban parir la pasaban muy mal. Todo este terror me llego a afectar mucho y encontre este libro maravilloso. Se los recomiendo porque habla de anecdotas de diferentes tipos de partos y como esta Matrona de España logra calmar y preparar a las madres para esta funcion Normal fisiologica y que el dolor es insertado en las mentes por miedo e ignorancia e impaciencia. Ahora voy a tratar de conseguir el otro libro de ella que escribio en 1955 de la psicoprofilaxis obstetrica. Creo que su legado ha pasado mas alla, soy de Panama y hasta aca ha llegado a calar su sabiduria.
