the author wasted a major opportunity and the book contains too much ...

Uhhh,well this was a mixed bag,on one hand the book was a very timed venture,being released at the peak of election campaigns,however,the author wasted a major opportunity and the book contains too much leftist (real pseudo secular) banalities too common in boring news paper articles by Marxists and Islamists or western liberals

The book certainly has some highs,like it tells the story of politics of Gujarat since the inception of the state in 1960 and does a good job at it,however Narendra Modi gets side tracked when he goes in too much detail of that!But this is certainly a plus in the book!

However,he is struggling to find a balanced narrative on Modi's story and this happens big time in the book,he says he's a 'secularist' which in India frankly translates to an Islamist or a Dhimmi,and his sources are looney bins of marxist breed!!And he loses it!!He relies too much on Modi baiters,however I was surprised not seeing Setalvad's fugly name at all in the book!Also there's one chapter about Modi Kurta which is thoroughly boring and absolutely unnecessary!

Also 2002 and riots are rightfully covered so is 2002 election of Gujarat assembly but 2007 and 2012 elections are not as much covered!The book is good for reading about Guj politics of 1960-2012 and therefore I gave the book 3 stars instead of 2 stars!!

Biography has been written by a biased critic, but nonetheless gives some insights into the journey of a small boy from a small town to the top most job in the state and country. We get to know about his training in RSS and BJP and the hard & smart work he did before coming into active politics.

There is too history of Indian politics at times and the biases of the author are clearly visible as he highlights the negatives and gives a spin to the positives.

EXTREEEEEEEEMLY detailed, and a dry historical dissertation. Everything you wanted to know about Attila, his family, or anyone even remotely connected to them, before-or-after. A very thorough history for history buffs, a very long read for casual interests. Possibly best used as a reference. There is so much detail that one wonders if everything in this book is historical; I don't know. Frequent use of words that I had to look up, so it did help my vocabulary.

The author is clearly intelligent, but not the most engaging writer.

Easy to read for a law book...

As I started reading this book for my law class, I was pleasantly surprised with its ease of use. Very sensible and easy to understand. This is the one book I am not reselling because I know it will be useful to me in the future.

Major Error that will mislead teachers...

There is a major error that needs to be reported. On page 57 in the section on Employee Rights, the author reports that the district court in the Wigg v. Sioux Falls School District case "held the policy valid prohibiting Wigg (and others) from participation in religious activities at the campus of employment". The holding wasn't accurate, and also the negative ruling of that district court was reversed on appeal in Wigg v. Sioux Fall School District, 382 F.3d 807 (8th Cir. 2004). The Eighth Circuit stated: "Wigg seeks nothing more than to be treated like other
private citizens who are allowed access to Club meetings. SFSD's policy permitting participation by all interested parties-so long as they are not district employees-in after-school, religious-based, non-school related activities violates that mandate of neutrality. As such, we affirm the district court's order allowing Wigg to participate in the Club at other SFSD school locations, but we reverse the court's decision prohibiting Wigg from participating at Anderson Elementary."
